Another season comes to a quick end.

Its hard to imagine almost 4 months ago when the basketball season started. Its also hard to believe time went by so quickly. We definitely had a better season than the last two but the highlights were fewer than the hardships. Our JV squad ended on a high note. We beat Rock Springs at home for the 1st time since I've been coaching here. (4 years) However, our season ended abruptly when our Varsity shot the worst percentage of the year at a whopping 18%. Even though our defense held our opponents to only 33 points, you can't win with that kind of shooting percentage! Its always a disappointment when your team doesn't even come close to their offensive potential.
So now what to do with all the spare time after school and on weekends? So far what I have planned is workout, skiing, house projects, read and get ready to start my business and make some money for my masters degree. That should keep me busy. This weekend I finished the Hunger Games trilogy, it only took me 9 days, so now I need to find some new books for entertainment as I find myself reading more and more lately. I must be bored!
This quarter I had a student teacher, Ms. Warren. She was great! Her first question she asked when she arrived was, "what do I do if there's a fight?" haha I gave her some good tips and then she jumped right into the classes and took over with no troubles at all. It was hard to step back and let her teach everything without me interjecting extra instruction. Eventually I relaxed and observed and did lots of research and planning for 4th quarter. But now that she has left for her second assignment, I need to get myself back in the habit of teaching! haha
So for those of you wanting an update, here it is. See you soon. Back to class!
